Fisher-price Little People: Christmas Village [Toy]
The Little People Christmas Village is a very sweet play set for children to play-out the excitement of the holiday season. The Village includes fun shops - bakery with window that opens, Post Office where you can mail a letter to Santa, and a toy store where there's a spinning wheel with lots of toys. There's a Christmas tree that plays the tune Oh Christmas Tree and surprise stacking presents reveal a puppy for Christmas! This set also includes Little People Santa and his sleigh, a Little People Elf and Little People Mrs. Claus.

This Christmas Village is absolutely adorable! My 5 yr old son adores it.
I bought ours in April, 2010 at an online auction site. It came complete with the Amazon packaging white box. I like this box, it's thicker/sturdier/smaller than the colored packaging and I find it easy to pack away the set compactly when not in use. I ordered from Amazon the nativity scene a couple of years ago, and was given the option of this type of packaging for a lesser price to save the environment of unnecessary use of the plastic packaging.
Out of the box, it has 3 village houses-a Gingerbread House Bakery, a green Toy Dept., and a red Post Office. It also came with Santa, Mrs. Claus, Elf and a Reindeer, a present with a puppy, sleigh and one rein, and a musical tree.
The pieces are all very well constructed, and the colors of light brown, red, green, yellow and pearlized white are very vibrant and well detailed.
The houses are not so huge, which really appealed to me, you can also add your own little people and LP sets to this set as well.
My son has been having a blast playing with the set, recreating his favorite time of year, he even wanted it on his bed with him when he went to bed, (chuckle)
I'm not sure how long ago this was available or what the original retail price was. I personally paid $10.95 plus $6 shipping. From the looks of it, I got a great deal. The set I purchased was rarely played with, so it was in like new condition.
Overall, it's an adorable set. I wish I had it sooner. I didn't put up my own Dept 56 Christmas Village pieces this past Christmas because I knew my son would have been trying to play with it. Now, he has his own "village pieces" that he can play with, although if I know him, he will be trying to play with mine too...oh well, I guess I can wait another year or two before attempting to set it up again. For now, we can use this one. This one is a keeper, I plan on hanging onto this. :)

I purchased this as a gift for my niece. She loves the Fisher Price Little People and has almost every set. While this toy is very cute (and of course she loves it), it is not worth the price of $50.00. The "shops" are very tiny. I also bought the Little People Christmas on Mainstreet this year. The villages were much bigger and it came with more Little People and accessories. I only paid $19.99 for this! I don't know if the Christmas Village is normally $50.00 or the price was inflated at Christmas time because it was Santa Claus. -- Cute but expensive
My 23 month old son loved this toy! It helped us teach him about Christmas. Even though Christmas has passed, he is still playing! This is a great purchace! -- Big Hit!
I bought this for my daughter when she was 3 years old. It is cute, but there's not too much to it. It never kept my daughter's interest for very long. She is 5 now. She has asked me to get it out for her every great once in awhile over the past two years. And once she starts to play with it, it keeps her attention for about 5 minutes tops. It did come in a plain cupboard box, so it had no appeal being unwrapped for Christmas, but the box is GREAT for storage. It's not a the kind of box you find in a toy store that is only made for "shelf appeal" and gets thrown away as soon as you open it. I love the box for its storage capacity. -- Cute, but not very fun.
This toy is perfect for having in the available toys all year around. I have raised two boys and a girl and left their wooden Nativities out so they could retell the story any time they wished. Now that I have grandchildren I have made sure that each family has one Fisher Price Christmas Story and one Noah's Ark and all the additional figures. In addition our grand children add other toys to their scenes and modernize or embelish and modify their learning giving the older children and adults insight as to how children are thinking about events in their current lives. I recall our children taking baby Jesus riding atop their fire truck ladder in July. We have noticed that each of the grand children ages 1-nearly 4 have first preferred the camel then later preferred the donkey (burro). Both the Story and the Ark rate 5 stars 12 months of the year. During the Christmas and New Year holidays each family arranges them under the tree and add trees, transportation items and forms a huge metropolis for about a month then return them to the general toy area always making sure all the figures are stored together as a unit. Extremely durable and safe to use. -- This toy is not a memely a decoration
