Fisher Price Little People a Christmas Story (White Shipper Box)

This is a very cute toy and a great tool to teach your children the story of Christmas. My girls love to play with it.
Very durable. Shop around, though, because I saw this in a larger set (more pieces) at Wal-mart for $39.99 around Christmas time. -- My Girls Love It

My 2 year old loves playing with this set, and I do not need to worry about small objects or breakable parts. The characters are adorable and have great personality. I would certainly recommend this toy to others. Fisher Price is known for (and proven)it's longevity and durability: you WILL pay for a good product. BUT I rated it only 3(.5) stars becuase it does not give as much "Bang for your Buck" as some other Fisher Price toys:
1.) I found this EXACT model over [...] cheaper at a local retailer - and it was NOT on sale or mismarked(Note: there are different versions and sets of this Nativity scene - some with more parts and characters, some with less.)
2.) I would not buy THIS toy at full price (average [...]) because:
*** you can't store the pieces in the set. ie: if the Manger were a bit larger and deeper, and the background parts attached and closed, you could put the characters in the Manger and shut the doors - all nice and neatly stored.(It appears this issue is true for all Manger sets.)
*** I say the above because we also bought the Noah's Arc set (arc with detachable lid, Noah, and 8 animals)for [...] at Toys R Us and you can store all the characters inside the arc with room to spare (I was able to fit 8 of the Manger characters in as well...) Fabulous! I think for [...] they could definitely have made the Manger more "organization friendly" like the Noah set.
*** the 2 small background pieces that came with this set do not attach to the manger or to each other like they do in the larger set - a cheap and easy fix for Fisher Price.
*** for the full price they should put one more piece in the set: the sheppard! You have to choose between using the character as Joseph or as the sheppard.

This set does not light up as the other reviewers have said, that was not an issue for my family, the simpler the better and the little people are so durable we love them! However as we unpacked this set we thought at first that the little man doll was a shepherd to go with the sheep, not true, he is Joseph. Fisher Price broke up the nativity scene into several 'sets', this is the basic one, don't expect to tell the ENTIRE nativity story with it, but for our 2 yr old it does the trick. I agree that it is overpriced here, go elsewhere to find a much better deal. (we did) -- Mary the Single Parent?

I bought this when my daughters were 9 & 1. It has been loved by both since it arrived! It may be cheaper elsewhere, but it is very hard to find at reputable online & local dealers. -- Cute & Fun

I agree with the other reviews that while this is a nice toy that does help to tell the true story and theme of Christmas...it is not worth the month. I got mine instore and onsale and was glad I did not pay full price. The manger does not do anything, would have been nice to have doors or something so essentially you are paying for the additional Little People characters. I'm glad my daughter has it, but I am also glad I did not pay full price. -- Helps with Telling the Story of Christmas
